"Climbing on a bandwagon, or starting something new?
Probably a combination of the two."

SeeYouOnSet

SeeYouOnSet
is unlike anything else that has gone before, and yet contains elements of all the advantages of websites like "The Hidden Extra", sadly demised, and incorporating the more specific aspects of the social networks, such as facebook and the business network LinkedIn.

We're all self-employed (or should be) professionals, working within the same industry; all with the same goals (find as much work as possible/generate an income) and all with our own ideas about how an agency, this business and filming in general should be run, maintained, taken forward etc., etc..
What we're not.........is organised in any particular shape or form, besides that of being with the same agencies, or belonging to a particular social network.
This is not a rallying cry to form or join a union, nor to down tools, nor storm the bastille.
It's simply an idea to utilise our creativity within our chosen trade, and to see if we can generate a further income by pooling our resources.
It's more of an ethos, rather than a call to arms. There are very many intelligent and creative people working within the background industry; so, why not show each other what we can do.
SeeYouOnSet believes that (almost) anything goes.
Post a showreel, show off a short film (there's one at the bottom of this page), and advertise your talent. But do it to people who work in the industry, and not just friends.
Want feedback - we can give it. No peer pressure; just personal, professional opinion.

And SeeYouOnSet wants the same.
Feedback on the website, feedback on the forum, feedback in e-mails and feedback face-to-face.

SeeYouOnSet - a new kind of network site.

  • Membership: It's free, but not guaranteed:

Because that's the way it is.

  • Searching for an agent:

That's how it begins. Like a drug, a craving. You find, you join. Then you find that's not enough. Search for more, join, and then another and another. Until, either, eventually you find one that suits or you play along the tightrope of agencies, and hope that you don't get work from all of them on the very same day. Though by the law of sod, that often happens.

Its never actually been that easy. Although far more so via the internet. Word of mouth, google searches, ads in The Stage or the noticeboard websites, or even in the job centre.
But how do you know if those agencies are any good. It varies from person to person, and personal relationships with bookers and maybe the AD's.
  • SeeYouOnSet:

All the information that you could ever have hoped for, and a lot more besides, is all here. What more could you ask for, and why wouldn't you want to be a member?

Not a union, not a co-operative, not an agency.
A social business network - specific to its members.
